The Holy Innocents – Martyrs
Feast Day: December 28

Today we celebrate the Holy Innocents, the little children of Bethlehem who were killed by King Herod while he tried to kill the Christ Child (Matthew 2:16-18). Those naive lives, though short, stand in testimony to the glories of Christ and God’s plan for overcoming sin.
The Holy Innocents remind us that life is sacred and that we must love and cherish the most innocent. Their martyrdom makes us question the price of discipleship and the hope that lies in Christ, who redeems and lives for us.
Prayer:
Lord, as we remember the Holy Innocents, may we be advocates for justice and protectors of the innocent. Strengthen us to follow Your will and trust in Your eternal promise. Amen.
Blessed Feast of the Holy Innocents!
